Adders at Porthcurno Beach

with No Comments
During a trip to Porthcurno Beach, Cornwall last week the sun actually did come out!

In fact it shone for most of the time and to prove it this adder was seen sunning itself beside the coastal path.

Despite the lingering winter adders have already been recorded in many parts of south west Cornwall.

This isn’t uncommon as the spring is often the best time of year to see them as they warm up after hibernation.

Yes, this photograph of Porthcurno Beach was taken on the day!

Even in winter this beach is a stunning place to visit.

In the summer this beach and the nearby Minack Theatre are a magnet for holidaymakers so visting off season can be better for seeing wildlife.

Having said that, there is always the chance to swim with Basking Shark in the crystal clear water in the summer!
